Apply one coat of latex primer, which should be a complementary color of unfinished wood preference (ex: Cherry, Walnut, Oak). Tan color shown in photo works for most stain colors. Using a slightly thinned-out base stain, brush lightly and evenly onto moulding. Allow to dry, sand if needed, and apply a clear coat of sealer. Apply a stain glaze, wiping face (per mfg. instructions) to remove excess product. Degree of stain penetration is personal preference. Remaining glaze enhances deeper cuts - adding depth and highlights to the ornamentation. Mouldings as received.
