Jobsite modify for shorter heights. INTERSECTING PLYNTH BLOCKS This style plynth would be no more than 1/4” - 1/2” wider than the casing and 1/4” - 3/4” taller than the baseboard. Easy to jobsite modify for shorter bases. USING PLYNTH BLOCKS AND ROSETTES When a baseboard is thicker than the receiving edge of the casing, or when an extra touch of architectural detailing is required, a plynth or rosette is employed. A plynth usually acts like the base of a column for a casing and a rosette as its capital (though sometimes used in place of a plynth).
