Wood Species &Warranty Carvings and linear mouldings are available in North American hardwoods, including: Alder (ALD) – superior clear FAS grade; typical “rustic” characteristics are defected out (such as heavy mineral, heavy sap, or severe knots); pulled for uniform pink coloration Cherry (CH) – FAS select grade, pulled for maximum red-colored heartwood on the best face Maple (MP/HMP) – New York and Michigan select hard maple; FAS grade 1&2 white Oak (OK) – FAS superior grade select Appalachian red oak; pulled for wheat color Poplar (POP) – Southern FAS natural poplar; a mixture of sap and heartwood; blacks, purples, and greens are acceptable; this is our paint-grade species for linear mouldings Most carvings are also available in species designed for price-sensitive projects, including: Rubberwood (RW) – a member of the maple family, this hardwood comes from trees whose sap produces latex (rubber); an environmentally friendly wood due to its secondary use in furniture and carvings; dense tight grain with even coloration ranging from pink to light brown; accepts stain readily to match a wide variety of North American species White Birch (WB) – hardwoods including Asian white birch, Russian (Baltic) birch, and Asian soft maple; pale white in color with finely textured grain makes this species a good staining alternative to hard maple Decorative Wood &Moulding Warranty Hardware Resources believes in quality, integrity, and reliability. We uphold the highest standards of service and responsibility in the industry. As such, Hardware Resources warrants all Decorative Wood and Moulding to be free from any defects in material and workmanship. This warranty is valid for up to 1 year from the time of original purchase. Hardware Resources will send the original consumer purchaser, without charge, new replacement product of equal size and species to replace any defective wood or moulding product subject to this warranty. This warranty is a warranty of replacement only. Hardware Resources specifically does not warrant removal of the defective product nor installation of the new one. This warranty does not cover the finish work on the new product, product that has been incorrectly installed, exposed to extreme temperatures or humidity, or otherwise used in any manner contrary to their intended purpose. Moulding sold in less than carton quantity is subject to damage in shipping and is not eligible for a warranty claim.
