Our company, founded 30 years ago by Theo Eichholtz, has been built on a solid foundation of offering high quality design and truly excellent service, so as we enter a new chapter, our focus is on scaling up and globalising. With pride and conviction, we are thrilled to communicate more distinctly who we are and what our plans are as a brand. This new concept magazine is just the start – an expression of what the Eichholtz lifestyle means. Our main aim is to grow the business globally, building on our existing relationships and presence to become a more recognised name. We remain a business to business brand, but we realise that by creating more consumer facing touchpoints, we help and support our customers to sell our furniture. Our first stop is an Eichholtz flagship store in the Design District of Miami, which will be operated by a muchvalued partner, followed by the global rollout of partner-operated standalone stores including a new Eichholtz flagship in Amsterdam. C O M U S C A T A L O G I N T R O D U C T I O N “ We’re always thinking about what would fit in the collection, what do customers like and need.” EDWIN VAN DER GUN, CREATIVE DIRECTOR I N T R O D U C T I O N hen I began working at the company 15 years ago, I was drawn to Theo Eichholtz instinct for curation and concept. My job was very much about developing and sourcing products that would become part of a growing collection and establish a look that has over the years become so strong and recognisable that as a team, we have created a brand and a lifestyle, not just singular furniture, and lighting pieces. Inspiration comes from everything around me: trips to Parisian and Italian antique markets and specialist dealers, auction houses, travel, and fashion. I’m looking at defining periods of design and architecture such as art deco, modernism, and Italian 1970s glamour - it’s all in the mix, which enables our design team to deliver the very best collections for our customers. To my mind luxury, a word we use so often in our industry, has come to mean something more subtle, more suggested than what has been traditionally opulent. Luxury is as much about a feeling and time to reflect in our homes than as it is about a product. That’s something we consider at Eichholtz as we put together collections: the warmth and forever style that is part of a luxury lifestyle. While our collections cover a broad spectrum of aesthetic choices, timelessness is the signature that defines the Eichholtz look. With that comes the importance we place on presentation, the flair with which we curate collections in our showrooms, at the trade fairs and through our photography. For the Spring / Summer collection we’ve focused on softness, seen in rounder, more organic forms, beautifully faded jewel tones and earthy neutrals, and upholstery that offers texture and tactility. The new lighting collection features brushed metals and delicate alabaster finishes. Our aim is always to add an element of surprise, something wonderfully unexpected to please and delight our audience. US Managing Director, Dallas George joined in June 2020 with 35 years of industry experience. Having held previous senior management positions with Thomasville Furniture Industries, Lexington Furniture and Pulaski Furniture. He is uniquely qualified to spearhead Eichholtz’s US initiatives. The latest addition, coming on board in late January 2022 is the New York City-based US Marketing Director, Alyssa Abrams. Her past roles as the Senior Marketing Manager for New York’s iconic Decoration & Design Building and Director of Brand Development for pioneering digital design platform StyleRow garnered deep-rooted relationships, industry knowledge, and a passion for design. With founder Theo Eichholtz overseeing product development materials feel especially noble, such as marble and alabaster in lighting and the unexpected textural richness of travertine in occasional tables. There’s plenty of softness in the new collection too. From the beautifully curved silhouettes of armchairs and extravagantly oversized sofas to the sumptuousness of fabrics such as bouclé and velvet, this season feels especially inviting. Accessories, such as vases and bowls take on the whispers of vintage styling in their organic forms as do the more informal seating, especially the swivel chairs on fine brass plinths. There’s a newness in the spring color palette too that spans the signature earthy neutrals, but now moves into muted jewel tones such as amber and ruby and onyx as well. Metallic detailing has been toned down for spring with burnished trims on brass-edged mirrors and as well as the frames of dining chairs and consoles.
